Chevy K10 72 need improved transmission

November 12, 2014 - Author: bartbarton - No Comments

I have a 1972 Chevrolet K10 1/2 ton 4WD.

Question:  I am rebuilding my nv4500350 engine, and would like to replace the Saginaw 3-speed with a better transmission! I was leaning toward NV4500, since I would prefer to stay with manual shift. I would also like to convert to hydraulic clutch. Do you have a “kit” for this truck, or perhaps suggestions? At this point any information is welcomed! Thank you,

Answer:

We need to know which transfer case the truck has in it right now.. We would assume it is the factory NP205 10 spline unit…

For the NV4500 you will need the following parts:

  • 712576 bell kit $399
  • 50-0217 transfer case adapter kit $599.00
  • MTGM009N $1695.00 OUTRIGHT NEW
  • Shift stub and stick $125.00

Hydraulics would be best to search online and go with Wilwood or something aftermarket

If you would like more information or to place the order give Scott a call toll free 888-824-2012 he can help you.
